MELD Programs & Retreats

Training for men who already perform. Built for the moment performance stops working.

MELD trains one thing: the capacity to stay connected when pressure hits, instead of shutting down, pushing, or going blank. It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t another framework to read. It’s practice, with other men, that holds up where your real life puts the pressure on.

You’ve read the books. Maybe done therapy, maybe years of men’s work. You can talk about feelings, run a meeting, hold a room. Then your partner asks what you’re feeling, and you go blank. Or you start explaining, fixing, managing, anything but actually being there.

That’s not a knowledge problem. Your body just didn’t get the memo. If that’s familiar, you’re not behind, and you’re not the only one. Most men in MELD got here the same way: competent, capable, and quietly leaking energy in the parts of life that matter most.

MELD exists for that gap. Most paths for men push harder: optimize, perform, win. Or they tell you to open up: feel more, heal. Neither trains the thing that actually fails under pressure, your nervous system’s ability to stay online when it counts. MELD trains that directly, in the body, in relationship, and in community, through practice with other men. (Full model and research on the Science page.)

Find your place

One method. Three tiers. Start where you are.

MELD isn’t a single program you either buy or don’t. It’s one method delivered through three tiers, so you can enter where your need, readiness, and experience actually put you, then keep going from there. Each card below is a door. Tap it to learn more.

More depth · more commitment
Tier 1 · Entry
Get a feel for it
Start here without overcommitting.
If you’re new, curious, or just looking.
Tier 2 · Foundation
Where the work becomes real
Build practice that holds under pressure.
If you’re ready to actually do the work.
Tier 3 · Deep Work
For men ready for more
More depth, responsibility, or consequence.
If you’ve done real work and want more.
Alongside any tier
1-on-1 Coaching: private, direct work you can start at any stage.

You don’t have to climb in order, and you don’t have to map the whole system before you move. For most men, the front door is Core. Start there and the rest makes sense from the inside.

Tier 1 · Entry

Start here without overcommitting

Low-friction ways to understand the work, meet the men, and feel the first bit of movement. No program to commit to yet. And the point of Entry isn’t to stay. It’s to start moving toward real practice.

Tier 2 · Foundation

Where the work becomes real

This is the center of MELD. Structured training, an immersive retreat, and daily reps that turn experience into changed behavior. It’s where most men spend real time, and if you do one thing here, do Core.

Start here
MELD Core
The 10-week foundation for staying present, honest, and connected when life gets hard.
Core trains the method over time. You meet weekly with other men and run the core practices in real time, not as ideas but as reps. Then you take them into the places that matter: your marriage, your work, your friendships, the conversation you keep circling. It’s where most men begin, and the base layer everything else builds on.
Next cohort: Fall 2026 · limited to 30 men · Join the Waitlist.
Best for: men new to MELD, or ready for real weekly practice.
MELD Prime Retreat
A 4-day immersion to feel and live the method, not just learn it.
Where Core trains the method over time, Prime lets you live it in four days with other men. You move, you practice, you get honest, and you put down what you’ve been carrying long enough to feel a real difference. Men often call it the point where the method stopped being an idea. It’s also the strongest bridge into Deep Work.
Best for: men who want immersive in-person work, or who are in a transition.
MELD Solo Coach
Daily reps that keep the work warm between sessions.
Live work builds the skill. MELD Solo Coach (MSC) is the reinforcement layer, not a replacement for it. Check your state before you react, prepare for a hard conversation, reflect after a rupture, and stay in contact with the work every day, not just on group night. It’s a resource available 24/7.
Best for: men who want daily reps and a pause before they react.

Core or Prime? Core trains the method in a weekly facilitated men's group over 10 weeks. Prime get's you immersed for 4 days. They’re not lighter or faster versions of each other, and most men end up doing both.

Tier 3 · Deep Work

For men ready for more

More depth, more responsibility, or more consequence. Not just more of Foundation. A different level of commitment and a different job to be done. These rooms are smaller and the work is more direct. Entry is by application or fit, and most men arrive here after Core or Prime.

Forge or Integrated Training? Forge transforms you. Integrated Training forms you to hold and lead the work for other men. One is depth for yourself. The other is the capacity to carry it.

How men move through MELD

Most men don’t do just one thing

The system is built for that. You pick a first step, and each step shows you the next. A few common paths:

You don’t choose all of this now. You choose where to start.

Built from decades of practice

MELD didn’t start as a brand. It started in real rooms with real men. Owen Marcus has spent roughly 50 years studying and teaching body-based change, trained directly under Ron Kurtz, Peter Levine, and Stephen Porges. He co-founded EVRYMAN before co-founding MELD with Duncan Rich. The method is consistent with peer-reviewed research, including a 2024 study in Psychology of Men and Masculinities (Choi & Sabey).

Questions men ask

Before you choose

How is MELD organized?
One method delivered through three tiers. Entry gives you free, low-commitment ways to start. Foundation is real practice: Core, Prime, and Solo Coach. Deep Work is advanced, by-application work: Integrated Training and Forge.
What’s the best way to start with MELD?
For most men, MELD Core: a 10-week foundation of structured practice with other men, applied directly to real life.
Is MELD therapy?
No. MELD doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. It’s body-based, relational, and community-based training for more capacity under pressure.
What’s the difference between Core and Prime?
Core trains the method over 10 weeks of weekly practice. Prime lets you live the method in a 4-day immersion. Neither is a lighter or faster version of the other, and most men do both.
What’s the difference between Core and Forge?
Core is the 10-week foundation in Tier 2, the front door for most men. Forge is the small, advanced, application-only room in Tier 3, for experienced men who want the deepest personal work, usually after Core or Prime.
What’s the difference between Forge and Integrated Training?
Forge transforms you. Integrated Training forms you to hold and lead the work for other men. Forge is depth for yourself; Integrated Training is the capacity to carry it. Both are by application.
What if I’ve already done therapy, coaching, or other men’s work?
You can still start with Core to learn the MELD method directly. If you’re experienced and want depth, look at Prime, or apply for Forge or Integrated Training.
What is MELD Prime?
A 4-day immersive in-person retreat that lets you live the method with other men, reset your body, and return with more capacity. It’s also the strongest bridge into Deep Work.
What is Integrated Training?
MELD’s deeper personal and professional training, by application, for men who want to fully embody the method, lead men’s work, or bring MELD into their existing work.
Can therapists or coaches use MELD?
Yes. See the For Therapists page and Integrated Training for the practitioner pathway.
What if I’m not ready for a program?
Start in Entry: free membership, a workshop, or diagnostics. Solo Coach is also a low-commitment way to practice daily.
The next honest step

You don’t need to understand the whole system before you begin.

You need to know where pressure is showing up now: your marriage, your work, your loneliness, your shutdown, your lack of men, or the sense that success hasn’t given you the life you wanted. Then take one step. For most men, that step is Core. The rest of the map will still be here when you’re ready for it.
