The Assistance You Deserve

Men often sacrifice their personal lives for career; their identity getting lost or buried beneath responsibilities. It’s easy to feel trapped. You’re unfulfilled or disconnected from purpose and direction, and there’s never enough time to prioritize your well-being. Even the most successful men struggle just to feel content, complete, or good enough.

It could be a feeling of distance in your romantic relationship or with family, navigating the phases of divorce, or a palpable absence of sincere and supportive friendships. As a coping mechanism for these pressures and emotional challenges, many men tend to disengage. This might involve excessive focus on work, developing addictive behaviors, or emotional numbness.

You notice yourself behaving in ways that don’t fit with who you want to be. Or perhaps the difficulty has finally reached a critical, untenable level, and you’re beyond ready to make some much needed changes.

You’ve tried therapy, read some books, or pursued plant medicine. You’re ready to restore your vitality.

Whatever it is, our coaching can help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Why MELD ?

MELD’s solution is coaches integrate neuroscience and somatic awareness to make an impact on a deeper level. Our somatic coaching method is distilled from over seven decades of research on the physiology of stress and trauma. Using the natural intelligence of the body, we not only address the obstacles in your way, but the origins of the patterns that led you there.

MELD’s Pillars of Change:

  • Science-based practice – The commitment to research-based strategies provides the unshakeable foundation for MELD’s methodology, guaranteeing reliability and effectiveness.
  • Focus on the body – Rather than avoiding what you feel, let your somatic experience guide you towards what you want.
  • Addressing the root cause – Not just the symptoms.
  • Safety – Every session is safe, supportive, yet challenging, encouraging profound personal growth.

Our commitment extends beyond making change; we aim to equip you with essential life skills that were likely never taught but are crucial for personal growth. As you develop proficiency in these skills through our coaching, you’ll find yourself well-prepared to continue advancing on your own, constantly enhancing your abilities and understanding. What Sets MELD Apart

Having a top-down, intellectual understanding of what to do can only be so effective. The answer must be felt in the body in order to become sustainable, and that’s why MELD has created a “bottom-up” solution. We don’t force a strict disciplinary protocol with the hopes of “powering through” the problem. The MELD Method works seamlessly with whatever you’re dealing with, and is naturally effective for addressing underlying stress and trauma that cause detrimental patterns. Our coaches are trained to be highly attuned in order to track down gateways to the subconscious, where we can facilitate deep and lasting change that often comes easier and quicker than you might expect.

FAQ

What is MELD’s approach to coaching?

We use your natural physiological response to help train you to not go into a stress response but a connected and relaxed response. This makes space for you to use untapped resources and connect to others in a more powerful and fulfilling way.

We work in the present moment as we reframe our past and future on a deep physiological and emotional level. Change can be easy and quick when you work with the body as a portal into our limitations. We don’t focus on giving you new insights; we support their emergence. When you make the connections and learn on deep levels, the change expands in multiple areas of your life.

MELD Coaching is not therapy, even though many describe it as therapeutic. We weave in change at a casual level by supporting you in taking that change out in the world to make it sustainable.

Our fees vary per coach.

We adhere to the same standards all therapists and coaches follow – what happens in the session stays in the session.

Is there a commitment required? (e.g., a minimum number of sessions)

There is no contract. Either party can end the arrangement if you or the coach feels it’s not working or if you got what you needed. We do ask for a six-month commitment. We experience most men getting what they had come to us for in one to three months. Yet, to integrate and reinforce the changes, we see six months as a reasonable time frame. Although we enjoy seeing you regularly, we aim to get you to a place where you don’t need us.

We do a free 30-minute consultation to ensure we are the best fit.

We provide Leadership Transformation Coaching that emphasizes holistic growth from personal life to professional leadership.

How much does it matter if you are successful, if your life sucks, or even if you aren’t living the life you want? As with any investment, there is a risk. What are your opportunity costs if you don’t take action – what will inaction cost you and others?

MELD traces its roots to the late 1970s in Boulder, CO, where Owen Marcus immersed himself in studying somatic therapies. He received post-graduate training from luminaries such as Peter Levine, PhD, and Ron Kurtz, pioneers of somatic psychotherapy. In Scottsdale, AZ, Owen utilized these practices at his Rolfing and integrated medical clinic, demonstrating the profound impact of this work. Over two decades, he refined his somatic approach after his move to Idaho, leading to the establishment of the Sandpoint Men’s Group (SMG). This initiative quickly gained attention, inspiring a documentary film and Owen’s book Grow Up: A Man’s Guide to Masculine Emotional Intelligence. He also was invited to do a TEDx talk on his work.

During that period, he was one of the first members of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy. Owen went on to form the 501(c) (3) nonprofit corporation, Men Corps, to support men, men’s groups, and research.

As a co-founder of EVRYMAN, Owen led the development of all programs, including the foundational Fundamentals, which have now expanded to be Core at MELD, which was validated through extensive research. Today, all copyrighted programs created at EVRYMAN have been incorporated into MELD, continuing to evolve and impact men’s lives.
