What began as The Sandpoint Men’s Group, grew to become EVRYMAN in 2016, planting a seed that changed the lives of thousands of men. That pioneering work opened a door – and now MELD is where we cross the threshold into embodying our fullest expression.
EVRYMAN introduced something revolutionary: men learning to feel, connect, and lead with emotional honesty and somatic awareness. Before the media coverage and national recognition, a small team originating from Sandpoint Men’s Group created the methodology that would become a cultural touchpoint—the groups, the retreats, the framework that put authentic men’s work on the map.
That original model, its practices, structure, and spirit, was created by Owen Marcus, drawing on decades of men’s group experience, with support from the MELD team.
We built the foundation. Our approach attracted the first media attention. Our retreats trained the first facilitators. Our facilitator trainings equipped men’s coaches across the planet.
EVRYMAN proved something essential: men hunger for this work. Now that hunger deserves the deepest possible answer.
Organizations grow, shift, and explore new directions. Over time, EVRYMAN’s journey led toward digital platforms and broader reach, while the original team felt called to go deeper—to advance the live, embodied transformation that sparked the movement in the first place.
As leadership transitions unfolded and EVRYMAN explored new models, the founding team recognized an opportunity: to take everything we’d learned and build the next generation of men’s work. Not as a departure, but as a deepening. MELD is that deepening—where the original methodology meets cutting-edge neuroscience, where community becomes medicine, where transformation becomes lasting.
MELD carries forward what EVRYMAN pioneered and advances it through Embodied Tech™ and Functional Men’s Work:
MELD takes the framework that introduced a generation of men to emotional intelligence and advances it into something deeper. Our retreats aren’t about performance or perfection—they’re about coherence. Aligning body, emotion, and connection until change becomes natural, sustainable, and joyful.

EVRYMAN made a mark that matters. It opened a door many men didn’t know existed. Today, as EVRYMAN waits and explores new options, the founders who created its original methodology have dedicated themselves fully to MELD – taking that pioneering work to its next level of depth and impact.
We honor what EVRYMAN built. We created MELD to fulfill its original promise more completely. The groups, the somatics, the raw honesty between men, the trusted therapist referrals—we’ve kept the essence alive and built on it to meet today’s challenges with tomorrow’s tools.
If you came looking for the transformative experience EVRYMAN introduced to the world, you’ve found where it continues to evolve. The name reflects the evolution: MELD—where men learn to integrate all parts of themselves into wholeness.
Initiated by Owen Marcus and Duncan Rich, MELD brings together decades of experience from the founders and facilitators who built EVRYMAN’s original framework.
Duncan contributes organizational mastery and years of facilitation that sustained EVRYMAN in its formative years.
Mike Sagun adds years of group leadership and virtual training experience as a lead trainer.
MELD continues to grow, with many senior facilitators originally trained in EVRYMAN’s methodology remaining committed to supporting other men’s growth. We’ve refined that lineage into a deeper, science-based path that meets modern men where they are.
This isn’t confrontation or deprivation. It’s straightforward, emotionally safe change that lasts – and that men actually enjoy practicing.

“I came looking for the impact I’d heard about from early EVRYMAN – and found it here. MELD is where the work deepened.”
EVRYMAN pioneered a movement in men’s work with men’s retreats and men’s groups that changed thousands of lives. Organizations evolve, and more recently EVRYMAN has explored new business directions, leadership transitions, and new formats.
Led by EVRYMAN’s original creators, MELD continues to advance the embodied men’s work that put EVRYMAN on the map.
The founding team felt called to deepen the work beyond what the organizational structure of EVRYMAN allowed – in order to advance the methodology they’d created into its fullest, most impactful form. MELD is the response to the requests to create a new organization that felt true to the power and spirit of the original EVRYMAN.
The methodology that became the EVRYMAN Method was originally developed by Owen Marcus over decades of study and practice. Drawing on 5+ decades of research in how stress impacts the body, including the work of Ron Kurtz (Hakomi), Dr. Stephen Porges (Polyvagal Theory), Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Therapy), Peter Levine (Somatic Experiencing), as well as Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, breathwork, and many other lineages, Owen’s Sandpoint Men’s Group was his beta tester for this new, integrated Functional Men’s Work.
Owen trained and mentored the other leaders of the EVRYMAN team, creating the foundation of EVRYMAN’s approach.
MELD represents the evolution and full expression of that original vision.
The EVRYMAN methodology was created by Owen Marcus, who evolved it from his Sandpoint Men’s Group, which he founded in 2005. Collaborators who now lead MELD continue to build on what was created more than 20 years ago.
MELD offers training, backed by science, based in the body, for how a man can regulate his nervous system and understand the root of his protective patterns, including how they may be getting in his way.
MELD supports the creation and evolution of peer-to-peer men’s groups via our Group Leadership Training, weekly Group Guides, and Group Intensive deep dive trainings.
MELD trains, certifies, and supports therapists, coaches, mental health, medical and leadership professionals to integrate the MELD Method into their own practice or profession.
At MELD, we are proud of our international community of men, brought together and bonded by the common goal of getting to know themselves better, feeling better, and showing up for life as more of who they really are.
MELD is led by the founders who created EVRYMAN’s original methods and maintains the live retreat experiences that once defined the movement. We’ve advanced that foundation with neuroscience-based practices and deeper somatic integration.
EVRYMAN retreats were developed and led by Owen Marcus. He trained a team of facilitators, many of whom are now with MELD. Owen realized, through developing his groups, that there were critical skills that made groups and their work powerfully effective. He built on those teachings and experiences to create the retreats that brought the press who wrote about EVRYMAN. is ABC News story was the last retreat Owen and his team led for EVRYMAN.
